Alnwick Town Council have just launched their Mayor’s Civic Awards for 2017 -2018 which have two categories – adults, young people aged 18 or under and can be for an individual or a team. The awards were put in place to enable individuals and groups to receive formal recognition for their involvement, contribution and dedication to their town.
Last year 7 people received individual awards and 7 received group awards. The types of areas they were nominated for a range of areas each showing their involvement, contribution and dedication to charity work, community participation or voluntary activities.
Mayor, Alan Symmonds said “There are people make a real difference to this town, its residents and the tourists who visit. They are the sort of people who just do what needs to be done without making a fuss and I feel it is important these people get recognition for what they do”.
Awards can be made for a number of areas including charity work, citizenship, caring, sport or community participation. So if you think you know someone who you think is worthy of such as award just complete the nomination form and send it back to us. Nomination forms need to be returned by Monday April 30th.
