Alnwick Market Place
Brought to you by Alnwick International Music Festival, Alnwick Market place will be alive and buzzing with a day of fabulous entertainment by local artists this Sunday and it’s free. The theme is Northumbrian and will include traditional and contemporary music as well as Northumberland Sword dancing.
Top the bill are the ever popular Baghdaddies with their unique blend of “Northern Baltic Ska”. There will also be music from the region’s finest musicians, ranging from traditional Northumbrian through contemporary folk, blues and flamenco. The artists include Carole and Jamie Robb, The Little Big Blue Band, Ian K. Brown, Amble Sword and festival favourites Rhythm Sticks.
And if you want to learn Sword Dancing, Amble Sword will be running a workshop from 11am to 1pm.
So bring your picnic chairs, blankets or cushions (some seating will be available) and enjoy the music, food and local stalls on offer. You might even like to try Pan Haggerty, Alnwick Stew and Singin’ Hinnies (girdle scones).
