The Town Council is responsible for the War Memorial, the Hotspur Statue and Robertson’s Fountain.

The War Memorial is located at the junction of Denwick Lane and Bondgate Without.

A wreath laying ceremony takes place at the war memorial each year on Remembrance Sunday.

The Memorial was unveiled in 1922 and has three bronze military figures in World War I uniform at each of its corners.

The Hotspur Statue can be found on Pottergate. This is a bronze statue of the legendary knight Harry ‘Hotspur’ and was erected to commemorate the 700 years of occupation of the Alnwick Castle by the Percy family.

Robertson MemorialRobertson’s Fountain or ‘Pant’ is on the Cobbles in Bondgate Within.

It was erected in 1890 by Adam Robertson, a local Freeman and benefactor.

The Fountain was made operational again in 2013 after a number of years of inactivity.
