Members of Alnwick Town Council welcomed two new colleagues at the recent Annual Meeting.
Grant Sugden and Steven Temple were co-opted to the council which now has its full quota of eighteen members.
Grant Sugden represents the Clayport Ward and has joined the Finance and Policy Committee and the Planning, Highways and Transport Committee where he is Vice Chair.
With a background in social care and children’s services, Grant is the Chief Executive of Waverley Care, Scotland’s leading HIV charity, and is closely involved with national work to get to zero HIV transmissions by 2030.
An Alnwick resident, along with his partner and mini wire-haired dachshund, Grant is really excited about joining the Town Council. He said “I’m looking forward to being part of the Alnwick Town Council team and working together to support Alnwick to be the best it can be”.
Steven Temple represents the Castle Ward and is a member of the Recreation and Amenities Committee.
Alnwick born and bred, for the last 30 years his working life has centred around Leisure and Youth Service.
He cites his partner Melanie and two teenage children as being the main reason he wanted to join the council. “Alnwick is a fantastic place to live and work and I want to be part of the team that will shape the future of my family’s local community”
