Alnwick’s final day of Jubilee joy

In our final round-up of Jubilee activities in Alnwick we return to the Market Place to look at the last day of the music concert and call in at some street parties around town.

There has been praise for the quality of the music acts that entertained the crowd during the Alnwick Town Council four-day Jubilee music concert.

Pictured below are the Bloomfield Duo, namely Paul Bloomfield and Dee Twentyman.

Next we have Coquet Community Band: Big Band who proved to be popular with the Sunday morning audience.

Students from The Duchess’s Community High School showed what a talented and versatile bunch they are as their big band, ceilidh band and singers and quartet delighted the audience.

We see residents of Abbeyfield House waving their union flags as they looked ahead to inviting friends and family around to their coffee afternoon.

Party time was well underway when we visited Sycamore Avenue on Sunday as local residents joined forces to lay on a jubilee treat for the children.

Sheila Hedley and Elspeth Dodds are seen with the fantastic Jubilee cake Sheila made.

Jubilee spirit was also evident at Robert Adam Court – seen at the cake cutting are Sheila Moralee, Jim Askew, George Young and Mabel Forsyth.

And finally all aboard the vintage bus that has been running to and from Aln Valley Railway throughout the weekend.

All in all it’s been a Jubilee weekend to remember in Alnwick!
