Deadline approaches for Civic Award nominations

Who are Alnwick’s local heroes?

This is a question being asked by Alnwick Town Council and they are hoping you can provide the answer – and quickly as there are just four weeks left for you to nominate people for the adult and junior categories.

The Council is seeking nominations for their 2023 Civic Awards which will recognise those people who have given outstanding service to the community and made a significant contribution to public life in Alnwick.

The scope of the awards is a wide one, covering charity work, citizenship, sport, caring, the environment, arts and community participation and can be presented to individuals, teams, or groups.

There are two categories, one for adults and one for young people aged 18 or under.

Alnwick Town Mayor, Councillor Geoff Watson, said “These awards give us the opportunity to show our gratitude and shine a light on the unsung heroes in our town who go above and beyond to improve the lives of others.”

“So if you think you know someone who is worthy of such an award, just complete the nomination form and send it back to us. As we know, Alnwick has a wonderful community spirit and the Council wants to acknowledge the people who make the town such a wonderful place.”

Applications need to be submitted by Friday 21st April.
Nominations will be assessed and a presentation ceremony held shortly after.
