Alnwick Town Council have had their first request to loan some of their Town Clean-Up equipment from Alnmouth Parish Council for their town tidy-up on Friday 28th June.
The equipment was purchased using the £4,500 High Street Community Clean-Up Fund given to the Town Council by Northumberland County Council. The Town Council have purchased a range of equipment: Litter Picking equipment including children’s litter picking kits; brooms, wheelbarrows & shovels and gardening tools including hoes, shears and racks.

Deputy Mayor Geoff Watson said “we are very grateful to Northumberland County Council for the funding which has enabled us to purchase the equipment. It’s pleasing to see that other people are as interested in keeping their town clean and we are happy to loan the equipment to Alnmouth Parish Council”.
He continued “Alnwick Town Council itself will be holding its next town clean-up day on Sunday July 14th so the equipment will get plenty of use”.
The Town Council has agreed to loan the equipment to other local Parish Councils and organisations to help them with any clean-up events they hold and anyone interested in borrowing equipment should contact the Town Council on 01665 602574 or firstname.lastname@example.org
