Council grant boosts Veterans Breakfast Club

Alnwick Town Council has once again sponsored the Alnwick Veterans Breakfast Club.

Town Mayor, Councillor Geoff Watson, handed a £480 grant over at today’s meeting of the Club which meets monthly in the Lindisfarne Centre. Geoff commented” It is a pleasure to present this funding from the Town Council. As a veteran myself I always go to the Club. People can become increasingly isolated as they grow older and it’s great to see first-hand the camaraderie and friendship that this club offers local veterans.”

The Veterans Breakfast Club is organised by Town and County Councillor Gordon Castle who added “I’m very grateful to Alnwick Town Council for this donation, the money is well spent as it helps us offer free refreshments to the veterans in a warm and friendly environment.”
