Allotments managed by the Town Council

Allotments in Alnwick
Alnwick Town Council operates four allotment sites within the town which have over 130 individual plots these sites are at Ratten Row, St James’s, St George’s and Cawledge View. Allotment tenants must be residents of the Alnwick Town Council operational area. Other allotment sites exist within the town and are managed by Northumberland Estates.
Alnwick allotment sites
Ratten Row
This allotment site is located between Alnwynside and Hulne Park and has 72 plots, the majority of plots have their own water supply. The Town Council allows pigeons and poultry to be kept on these allotments with appropriate permissions. There is a small waiting list for these plots and a few overgrown plots are currently available.
St James’s
This allotment site is located off Victoria Road and near to Willowburn and has 46 allotment plots. Shared water supplies are available on the site. Livestock cannot be kept on this site. This is our most popular allotment site and applicants may wait up to a year for a plot.
St George’s
The Town Council took over these allotment plots in 2013 from Northumberland County Council. This site is located between Victoria Road and St Georges Crescent and has 13 plots. There is water on the site. There is a small waiting list for plots on this site.
Cawledge View
This allotment site is located at the rear of the Alnwick Cemetery just off the old railway line and has three allotment plots. There is no water supply and livestock can be kept with permission.

The current allotment rents are as follows. Rents are reviewed annually.
