Spring Show brings splash of colour to town

Alnwick Spring Show filled the Willowburn Leisure Centre sports hall with colour at the weekend.

As well as the floral entries there was a great display of other entries including cookery, crafts, photography and childrens classes.

There was an excellent attendance too as people gathered to listen to musical entertainment from Pottergate Pantry’s Rhythm Stix, Alnwick Allstars choir and the Duchess’s Community High School Ceilidh Band.

Among the guests was the new High Sheriff of Northumberland Dr Anna Charlton, who is seen being shown round the show by the Mayor of Alnwick who proudly showed his winning blooms. After presenting the awards she commented “Congratulations to all involved in the organisation of this splendid community event. A celebration of talent, hard work and local spirit at its very best.”
