Alnwick strikes GOLD in Britain in Bloom

Alnwick in Bloom are delighted to learn that they have been awarded a Gold in the Town category at the Britain in Bloom annual awards ceremony hosted by the Royal Horticultural Society.

The group’s Chair Liz Adams said “Alnwick in Bloom is delighted to be awarded a Britain in Bloom Gold award and thanks go to our volunteers who turn out weekly to ensure that the town is looking at its best for locals and tourists alike.  Thanks are also due to Alnwick Town Council and Northumberland County Council for all that they do to help with our entry in the competition.”

Alnwick Town Mayor, Councillor Geoff Watson added “I was delighted to learn that Britain in Bloom has recognised the outstanding work of our Alnwick in Bloom volunteers in this prestigious national competition. The team work tirelessly all year round to keep Alnwick looking its best and this success is down to all their efforts. On behalf of Alnwick Town Council and the residents of Alnwick I congratulate the Alnwick in Bloom team for this excellent achievement.”

Also in the Town category were entries from Amersham, Thames & Chilterns, Abergavenny, Bankside in Southwark, Brandon and Donaghadee.

Britain in Bloom judges Roger Burnett and Ian Beaney visited Alnwick in August and enjoyed a tour of the town’s floral highlights.

The overall Winner of the Britain in Bloom UK Finals 2025 were Southport in Bloom.
