Alnwick’s new tourism bus is on the road!
Representatives of Alnwick’s businesses and tourist attractions gathered to launch the new ‘Alnwick Attractions Bus’ this weekend, just a few weeks from the idea first being discussed.
Town and County Councillor Gordon Castle praised the teamwork and determination of the parties involved in bringing the project to fruition so quickly, saying: “Alnwick is providing a real option for visitors to leave their cars and see the town’s attractions and the town centre itself. “
“It’s a summer trial and we all hope it succeeds as word gets round, easing traffic flow and getting people to appreciate our great town and what it has to offer everyone.”
“The bus, operated by NEED Ltd Community Transport, is free to users thanks to generous funding from the following organisations: Alnwick Town Council, The Alnwick Garden. Lilidorei, Alnwick Castle, Alnwick Chamber of Trade, Barter Books and Aln Valley Railway and I want to thank them all for their valued input into this project.”
The bus will run from 10am to 4pm every day until September 3 rd.
