Calling all motorbike fans – Alnwick is set to welcome a hundred Harleys!

The Geordie Chapter of the Harley Davidson Owners’ Group (HOG) will again be roaring into Alnwick, this year on Saturday June 29th during their annual annual “ABC” charity ride that raises funds for Help for Heroes.

The Mayor of Alnwick Councillor Geoff Watson, himself a confirmed motorbike fan, is looking forward to the visit saying “This is the fourth visit by the group who always receive the warmest of welcomes from the people of Alnwick. The bikers are delighted to show the public their machines and meet fellow enthusiasts so try and be in the the town centre at 11.30am as they will roar in or around 1.30pm when they depart – it will be quite a spectacle!”

The Harley Davidsons will be parked up on the north side of Bondgate Within between W.H. Smith and the Yorkshire Trading Co., from around 11.30 hrs. until 13.30 hrs. To enable parking of the bikes and safe viewing by the public, a formal Road Closure for Bondgate Within has been approved by Northumberland County Council and will officially be in force from 10.00 hrs. to 14.00hrs. The street will be closed to all vehicular traffic, including delivery vehicles.

Staff will be on hand at the barrier outside Yorkshire Trading Co. in case of the need for emergency access to Bondgate Within but will not be able to open the barriers for normal vehicular traffic or deliveries.
