Civic Carol Service a Great Success
The annual Civic Christmas Carol Service, which was held at St Michael’s Parish Church last Wednesday was a great success and the collection raised £373.56 for the Stephen Carey Fund.
Mayor Bill Grisdale said, “It was a great evening and I thought all the local choirs were fantastic, I am delighted that we were able to raise money for such a worthy cause, as the Stephen Carey Fund”.
The Stephen Carey Fund. Stephen Carey was a 21 year man who tragically collapsed and died whilst playing football for his village side. The Stephen Carey Fund is an organisation which aims to improve the awareness of emergency first aid skills in addition to improving the provision of life saving equipment, including installing Public Access Defibrillators (PADs), across Northumberland.
