Council grant hits the right note…

A grant from Alnwick Town Council has been awarded to Alnwick Music Society who produce a series of classical music concerts in Alnwick.

Mike Alexander, Alnwick Music Society Chairman, was delighted to receive £1000 from the Council saying “Our aim is to arrange high quality concerts by professional musicians. Through our outreach and education programme we interest young people and families in classical music and we provide better listening opportunities for older people.”

Alnwick Town Mayor, Councillor Geoff Watson, added “Our event grants are designed to help local groups stage events that will be enjoyed by the local community, and this grant will certainly do that. The Music Society has arranged a programme of high calibre performances, and the Council is pleased to support them.”
