Council grant supports community firework display
Members of Alnwick Round Table have expressed thanks to Alnwick Town Council for a grant that supports their upcoming community firework display.
The Round Table is required to pay traffic management costs to Northumberland County Council, and the Town Council has covered the £1646 charge.
Alnwick Round Table event lead Rob Hughes said “We believe Alnwick should have a safe and organised Community Firework Display. Thousands of people have enjoyed it over the years; indeed generations of families have made memories at it and we want that to continue.”
“It isn’t a money-making event. Money raised goes towards the considerable cost of putting the event on and we are very grateful to the Town Council for covering the required traffic management costs. Any profit we do make will help us offer continued support to the local community.”
“This is the second year the display is at Alnwick Town Junior Football Club and we hope the public will come along and enjoy the display on Saturday 7th November. Gates open at 6pm and the display starts at 7.30pm.”
