Council grants available to support the local community

Do you know that Alnwick Town Council offers grants to local organisations?

The Council wants to support voluntary and community groups to deliver activity that will make an impact within the town and also support one-off initiatives that will benefit the town.

The grant scheme is open to any voluntary/community or not-for-profit groups or organisations (including charities) based in or predominantly serving Alnwick.

Alnwick Mayor, Councillor Geoff Watson, encouraged people to apply for the grants saying “We know there are many groups and individuals who work tirelessly in many ways supporting local people by organising activities and events and we want to help them deliver their projects. I urge people to look at our grants – the money is here, waiting for your applications!”

The grants fall into three categories: event, environmental and general.

Applications do have to meet certain criteria such as the benefits to the community of Alnwick are clear, the applicant can demonstrate their ability to deliver activity successfully and sound financial management is demonstrated.
