Sunday 6th April has been chosen by Alnwick Town Council as the date for a town spring clean-up day. This community event will take place between 10am and 3pm to help get the town shipshape for the Easter holiday period. A number of cleaning activities will take place during the day including litter picking, street sweeping, weeding and graffiti removal.
The town clean-up day is a partnership event organised by Alnwick Town Council and Northumberland County Council and a number of local groups have already agreed to take part. These include the County Council’s young fire fighters, Alnwick In Bloom, Alnwick Area Friends of the Earth and the Alnwick Chamber of Trade.
If you are part of a group who would like to help then contact Bill Batey, clerk to the council, on 07971 810267 or email him at firstname.lastname@example.org to get more details and instructions for the day.
If you are an individual and are able to give a few hours of your time then come along to the Alnwick Market Place at either 10.00am or 1.00pm on April 6th and we’ll happily find you something to do.
