Mayor Geoff’s latest report
The end of the year is always a busy period for the Mayor and the festive season saw Councillor Geoff Watson attend a variety of events including a coffee morning with members of Alnwick Ukraine Group, an art event at the Duchess’s High School and a meeting for the forthcoming Spring Show as well as Christmas meals with the Royal British Legion and veterans at RAF Boulmer.
Geoff is also looking ahead to 2025 where he is expecting his diary to fill up quickly.
He said, “Alnwick Town Council supports numerous organisations across the town through our Community Grants scheme and many groups in the town are busy planning events that will be held in the coming months.”
“I am already working on a free musical event for May 2025 – VE Day 80 Anniversary which will be a moment of shared celebration for the residents of Alnwick. Alnwick Story Fest will be taking place in just a few weeks’ time between February 28th and March 2nd.
“The Alnwick and Denwick Neighbourhood Plan review continues. The Town Council will be consulting with residents again as we update this important document that is so key to the successful development of our town.”
“There’s a lot happening in Alnwick in 2025 – bring it on!”
