Mayor launches 2013-14 Civic Awards

Alnwick Town Council have just launched their 2013/14 Mayor’s Civic Awards. The awards aim to give formal recognition to individuals who have demonstrated significant involvement, contribution and dedication to their town. This could be in one of a number of areas including charity work, citizenship, caring or community participation.  There awards are in two categories – adults and young people aged 18 or under.

Speaking about the awards, Bill Grisdale, Mayor of Alnwick, said “I know there are lots of people in our town who really make a difference to our community by just quietly getting on with what needs doing.  Many local residents, individuals and groups owe a lot to these people and I feel it is really important that we recognise their contribution.  I would like to encourage people to think about those people who really makes a difference in our community and put them forward for a Civic Award.”

So if you think you know someone who you think is worthy of such as award just complete the nomination form and send it back to us.  Nomination forms need to be returned by April 26th and can be obtained by downloading by clicking on Nomination Form and Youth Nomination Form.
