Mayor’s March report: Books, bikes and Borderlands…

At the latest meeting of the Full Council, Alnwick Town Mayor, Councillor Geoff Watson, gave a report of his civic duties over the last few weeks.
Over the last month his meetings included the Borderlands Committee, a charity race night in Ponteland and a meeting with the bike track committee.
Accompanied by Councillor Dianne Watson, he attended the annual Shrove Tuesday football match in the pastures below Alnwick Castle.
The Mayor also met Alnwick Spring Show committee to discuss arrangements for the event. (The show is being held at Willowburn Sports Centre on 15th April, put the date in your diary now!)
Cllr Watson opened the Alnwick Multi Agency Crime Prevention Initiative (MACPI) coffee morning in St James’ Hall.
The Mayor is seen in the Lions Charity Bookshop during Story Fest where he met author Anabella Baker (centre) and discussed her experiences of writing and publishing.
