Remembrance service plans announced

With each passing year it seems that more and more people gather in Alnwick to pay their respects on Remembrance Sunday – a fact that has been remarked upon by the Mayor of Alnwick, Councillor Geoff Watson, as the details of this year’s Act of Remembrance are announced.

“My heart swells with pride each year as I observe the residents of Alnwick come together to honour the fallen. Our local heroes are gone but certainly not forgotten. This year’s ceremony will take place on Sunday November 10th.”

The details are:

  • Church service: 2:30 PM at St Paul’s RC Church
  • War Memorial ceremony: Shortly after 3:30 PM
  • Parade: Led by the Band of the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers and includes veterans and local organisations
  • Seating: Armed Forces veterans who are not part of a veterans association can contact Assistant Town Clerk Janet Pibworth at janet.pibworth@alnwick-tc.gov.uk or 07484 243593
