Restoration work starts on Alnwick War Memorial

Scaffolding has appeared around the War Memorial which can only mean one thing – the much anticipated conservation and restoration work on Alnwick’s iconic War Memorial has begun.

The conservators have done trials and are working with Town Council officers and Northumberland County Council’s Conservation team to ensure that the best methods and materials are used to carry out the conservation / restoration work.

The work is planned to last around two weeks and will be completed in time for the Remembrance Sunday procession on November 9th.
