Ten days left to nominate your ‘Local Heroes’

The Alnwick Town Council Mayor’s Civic Awards celebrate the people who make a positive impact on the lives of those who live or work in Alnwick.

Alnwick Town Mayor, Councillor Geoff Watson, is inviting residents to nominate outstanding young people, groups and individuals from across the local community.

“The Civic Awards shine a spotlight on the people who contribute positively to life in Alnwick.”

“Are you a member of a community group that deserves recognition? Do you have a neighbour who helps fellow residents? Are your children in a community or sports group that deserves credit? If you work with young people tell us about those that impress you.”

“Basically, tell us about your local heroes!”

Deadline for nominations is noon on Wednesday April 22nd.

There are three categories: Adult, Team and Junior (Should be U18 on 31st March 2026)

A panel of judges decide the awards which will be presented at a ceremony in Alnwick Playhouse on May 6th.
