Town Council grants offer financial support

Alnwick Town Council is pleased to announce that its grant application scheme is open for applications.

Voluntary and community organisations, who are based in, or predominantly serve Alnwick, are encouraged to apply for financial support by completing and returning the relevant application form.

The grants aim to provide financial support in order to help local organisations and groups carry on providing valuable services to the town as the Mayor, Councillor Geoff Watson explains: “Whilst the Town Council has always appreciated how important these groups and organisations are to the town, it is imperative, especially following the Covid pandemic, that we continue to do so.”

“I am pleased that this year we have been able to keep the budget at £35,000, which includes an Environmental Grant budget of £2,000 for groups or organisations who wish to undertake tree planting”.

“Please note the deadline – forms are due in by close of play on Monday October 3rd.”

The Town Council also has a separate budget for organisations or groups to apply for a grant towards the cost of an event in Alnwick. Applications for events should be sent in 3 months before the event is planned.

The Town Council are always pleased to receive applications from groups and organisations who have not applied for a grant before.
