In a response to the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine, Alnwick Town Council are organising a collection of goods for refugee centres in Poland.
A central collection and distribution point has been arranged at the Northumberland Hall (The former Tourist Information office on the ground floor).
It will be open from Friday 4 March 10-6pm and be staffed by volunteers and councillors. It won’t be open Saturday or Sunday but will re-open 10am Monday 7 March and operate10-6pm for the whole week.
We are aware of the fantastic work already being done at various collection points in the town and surrounding areas and we encourage this to continue.
The Northumberland Hall may be used to collate all items from these venues to facilitate easier collection and distribution. The Town Council is working with the County Council to ensure goods are collected from this point.
If you need help moving your collections to the Northumberland Hall please contact the Town Council and we will do all we can to help. To arrange collections or if you have any queries please contact the Town Clerk by e-mail on email@example.com
To facilitate communications on this project the Town Council will act as the main point of contact on this project and we will update volunteers through our website and Facebook page.
A list of suitable donations will follow shortly
